Great site.
It covered all the really hard aspects of fantasy world building - except the toughest point of all...What do you call the places and the people, so as not to make your reader laugh?

I stumbled onto your site and found it exciting since I am currently writing a fantasy fiction novel myself. Thank you for your site. It's people like you who make it exciting.

This site was great. I've only just started building my own fantasy world and the information here was really helpful. Thanks a lot!

I started writing up my own list of common magic systems/spellcaster-types, and then decided to try searching a bit more. I'm glad I did! Your information summarizes quite nicely, and I think the way you've categorized basic magic systems and wizard types is great for starters. Much appreciated.

Thank you so much for taking the time to compile this site. I have been struggling with a magical system for my world for the longest time. I have been 'working' on my fantasy world since I was in high school...in the 80s!! Actually, my worst problem right now is plot, but a big hole in the thing is magical systems and how magical I want my characters to be. I'd love a sounding board for this...

Anyway, EXCELLENT SITE. Thanks once again.

It is gratifying to see that there is at least one other person out there with tastes and methods similar to mine. Great site! I would suggest including a section on the actual nuts-and-bolts of historical design, timelines, etc. A great reference is AD&D's World-Builder's Guide. Thanks!

Did you know that this tiny, never-updated part of web-writer.net has the MOST HITS every month in my web logs? Either someone keeps coming back, or a lot of people find it very popular. I realized that I didn't have any way for people to tell me what they liked so much about this page, so I've created this guestbook as a way for you to talk back and tell me what works and what needs work.

Thanks for making this such a popular page on my site!
